The Lions Club of Port Hope has become the first sponsor for the Town Park Recreation Centre Expansion, specifically supporting the new Seniors Lounge and Servery. This announcement was celebrated last week (June 20, 2024) with local officials and Lions Club members in attendance.
Councillor Adam Pearson, speaking for the Municipality, praised the Lions Club for embodying the community spirit with their pioneering sponsorship. He noted, “With your help, we are creating a place for connection, learning, and health.”
Lions Club President Eric Thompson expressed the club’s commitment to the community, stating, “We are honoured to support the expansion and the new Seniors Lounge and Servery. This project enhances the health, wellness, and social inclusion of Port Hope’s 55+ residents.”
The Town Park Recreation Centre Expansion aims to improve quality of life for all residents by offering programs that foster physical activity and social interaction. The dedicated Seniors Lounge will be a vital resource for older adults, enhancing their engagement in the community.
The announcement aligns with the celebration of Seniors Month, highlighting the significant contributions of seniors to making Ontario a great place to live. The Municipality of Port Hope says they deeply appreciate the Lions Club’s leadership and eagerly anticipates the project’s benefits for the community.
