Brighton man facing impaired driving charge after crash in Cobourg

Cobourg police say a 44-year-old man from Brighton was charged with impaired driving following a two-vehicle collision in town.

The alleged incident occurred just before noon on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024. at the intersection of Elgin Street West and William Street.

Cobourg police arrested the driver at the scene, charging him with operation impaired by drugs, said police. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

Police are appealing to any witnesses or those with dashcam or CCTV footage of the area at the time of the collision to come forward.
