Cobourg’s Army Cadets Bring Back Tagging Fundraiser

The 88 Royal Canadian Army Cadets, one of Cobourg’s premier youth organizations, are bringing back Tag Days!
We will be holding our fall Tag Days in September 2024 and our Spring Tag Days in April of 2025. Tag days are one of the main fundraising events held by the 88 RCACC; the money raised through Tagging helps to fund the activities and experiences offered to the Cadets throughout the year.
Fall Tagging will be held on September 20, 2024 from 1700 to 2000; September 21, 2024 from 0900 to 1600; and September 22, 2024 from 1000 to 1400.
The support of our home community of Cobourg is vital and so very much appreciated! Ontario Ladies Novice Championship

1. The Cobourg club is the host venue for the 2024 Ontario ladies novice singles championship which will be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 21st and 22nd
2. There will be an opening ceremony at 8.30am on Saturday September 21st which will be attended by Town of Cobourg Mayor, Lucas Cleveland, club President Peter Stuart-Sheppard and Ontario Lawn Bowls Association (OLBA) Vice President, Nan Hendren. Hendren is also the Cobourg club secretary.
3. There will be sixteen ladies competing from clubs throughout Ontario. A novice is defined as someone with 5 years or less of bowling experience. The eligibility period was extended because of the pandemic and bowlers registered from 2018 onwards were eligible for this championship.
4. Representing OLBA District 14 will be Laura Mounce and Lori Wills from the Cobourg club.
5. Day 1 will be a round robin in groups of four and the top two in each group will proceed to elimination games on Day 2.
6. The gold medal game will be held at approximately 2.00pm on Sunday September 22nd and will be covered by Your TV Northumberland for later broadcast.
7. Visitors are welcome to watch the championship. The club is located in Victoria Park on the corner of Church and Queen Streets.

Visit our Miniature Vendor Booth: kids and adults alike can visit our adorable miniature version of a vendor booth, great for photo ops and children’s imaginations! Visit our working museum of antique farm equipment, snowmobiles, and everything in between. See our new “Hit & Miss Grinder” display. Free entrance, free wagon rides, food available.
Our doors are open to the Antique Machinery Centre (like a museum), shining a light on local history, with everything from wooden thrashing machines to wooden washing machines. Tractors original and restored. Come and visit your farm memories. Lots to see indoors and out. This is the home of the Hope Agricultural Heritage Club.
